Waste Processing
ffk environment gmbh is strongly committed to waste management. Rohstofftiger GmbH, a full subsidiary of ffk, was founded in order to increase the company's added value with its three recycling plants.
Rohstofftiger GmbH has its headquarters in Peitz, south of Berlin, and manages three recycling plants in the surroundings of the city, which are: Jänschwalde, Cottbus and Peitz.
Through the use of environment-friendly waste processing techniques which allow for a high rate of recycling, and due to its ecologically outstanding waste disposal systems, ffk provides ideal solutions in a timely manner to the disposal problems of local governments and communities. Furthermore, by means of integrated systems it can provide waste management solutions for entire regions or countries.
Waste Incineration
Incineration, that is, the thermal processing of waste to obtain energy, is a method which is now internationally recognized. Its asset is its low ecological impact, due to the constant improvement of the fumes purification systems. ffk's partners modern waste incineration plants ensure an environment-friendly disposal and recycling of waste, allowing at the same time for energy production.
An almost complete reduction of pollutant emissions is ensured by modern waste incinerator lines, which are equipped with highly effective fume purifying systems.
Recovery of Raw Materials
At present, ffk environment gmbh processes several hundreds of thousands of tons of waste per year.
Secondary raw material recycling with subsequent alternative fuel production has many advantages. It is an innovative recycling method, which allows to eliminate fossil fuels such as lignite and coal, largely contributing to resource conservation and the reduction of climate relevant gases.
It is in fact possible to obtain an homogeneous, storable material with well-defined fuel characteristics and a high thermal value, which yields a high quality product for the European market.
The subsidiary Rohstofftiger GmbH can handle also materials of mixed origins, such as household waste or industrial waste that is similar in nature. In a multi-phase processing, this waste is separated from the mineral and biogenic components through a mechanical-physical method. It is this step alone, which ensures the separation of mineral and biogenic elements from those with a high thermal value. At the same time, recyclable substances are selected and supplied to the industry as raw materials.
The fraction of high thermal value is made up mainly of paper, wood, foil and plastic. These materials are chopped up and reused as alternate fuel in European cement and lignite power stations. Ffk environment gmbh has already secured orders for the provision of alternate fuels for the next fifteen years.
Europe-wide Logistics
Thanks to GPS-guided technology, the most modern softwares and an excellent fleet of vehicles, ffk's logistics structures are among the most efficient on the European market.
Be it by rail, ship or truck - ffk utilizes all existing means of transport, in order to manage transportation of waste within European countries.
Moreover, ffk provides assistance in handling notification procedures to administrative authorities, necessary for the transportation of waste on an international scale.
Dismantling and reclamation
In the last years, the dismantling and reclamation sectors have strongly evolved, and they are at present continuing to grow in importance.
ffk environment gmbh offers an extensive variety of services to the business, trade and industry sectors alike. In addition, it provides projects for the dismantling and reclamation of depots, barracks and large areas such as disused factories, and also offers the complete implementation of these projects.
For ffk, redevelopment means essentially the reclamation of residual slag, but it can also refer to the selective dismantling of buildings. The waste disposal sector on the other hand focuses on the exploitation and removal of debris produced in the building or industrial sectors, or present in public areas.
